Wei Lu

Rub Crab Run(2014) follows a duo of crabs as they try to escape their fate in the cruise ship's kitchen and their journey towards the ocean.

Originally from China, Wei Lu is a multi-background computer art artist. He completed his B.S. degree of Electrical Engineering at 2007 and worked in the industry as a technical professional. After being in the industry several years, he found the predicable future is not what he wants. His enthusiasm of drawing from childhood has persisted, and now to follow his dream he has joined the MFA Computer Art at SVA for a master's degree (Graduate in 2014), where he is now a computer animation artist, specializing in story boarding and animation. His work often reflects simple but genuine human condition.

It's 3D short animation film, mainly done with Autodesk maya 2014 and rendered in Mentalray. The models are detailed in Zbrush and texture are painted in Photoshop.
