I am a passionate FX Artist with technical background. I have experiences using Houdini, Maya, 3Ds Max and Nuke to create photo-real effects. I also familiar with crowd simulation using Massive and Golaem. One of my major focuses and interest is using Python, Mel and Max Script to develop tools.

After years of learning, I have realized that it doesn't really matter what software you use as long as you can understand the main principle of visual effects.

This is my reel which I responsible for all the effects and composite in Nuke

I use Kilauea volcano on Hawaii Island as a reference. Kilauea creates magnificent lava, flows down to the sea and simultaneously
produces steam as it interact with water. All the effects were created by Houdini and render out using Mantra
>> Lava : Flip Fluid - use particle color to drive lava shader (Color and displacement are based on velocity and particle's color).

>> Steam :
Steam source : use attribute transfer to transfer color from lava to ocean (limit to the area where lava and ocean interact) then delete the unused ocean's particle.
Use “pyro solver” to create steam by controlling dissipation, disturbance, shredding, sharpening and turbulence
Create custom wind control to control steam direction
