The story of Macbeth was my inspiration for producing imagery and visualisations for landscapes that would tell a cinematic reimagining of the story.
I have used Autodesk Maya to model all of my environments and models, and Adobe Photoshop to concept my designs and to paint my matte painting projections.
I used The Foundry NukeX 9.0v5 to composite my scenes and to set up my camera projections to project the matte paintings onto the geometry imported from Maya.
I then used Adobe After Effects to put together my breakdown shots.
All of the concepting, modelling, sculpting, texturing, rendering, and compositing was completed solely by myself.
I used Autodesk 123D Catch to capture a 3D scan and textures of a round lodge survival shelter. I then sculpted onto this in Pixologic Z Brush and modified and retopologised it in Maya (seen at: 00:53).
I used my own photos, Photoshop brushes and cgtextures.com to source my textures.
I also used videohive.net for the snow effects seen at: 00.22, and the smoke effect at: 00.30.
