Media Design School,
Bachelors of Arts and Design 3D animation and visual effects,
November 28, 2014
I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I achieved a Diploma in Digital Creativity from Media Design School in 2011 and a Bachelors of Arts and Design from Media Design School in 2014. I'm currently working freelance as a 3D generalist. Most of my spare 3D time I use tinkering about with Marvelous Designer and Maya creating clothing for characters.
At the end of my last year of my Bachelors degree I was worked on Impasse (short film), The Hunting Party (short film), and Shelved Stunts (Web Series). For impasse I put my skills to use to model both characters clothing using Marvelous Designer, and then sort out the pipeline to get those models into Maya, simulate them, and ready to render. All up there were around 25 shots in the film where the dynamic cloth could be seen. We had a 12 week deadline so efficiency and good management was required. The use of Qualoth to simulate the cloth was very helpful. Shelved Stunts was a web series sequel to the hit shortfilm "Shelved" by Media Design School. We were split into small groups and given control over our own tasks. I was required to survey and capture an environment using 5 360° HDRI's. Using the measurements I modeled the car park environment, unwrapped and then setup the shader for the reprojected HDRI texture.
My key programs are Maya, Nuke, Marvelous Designer and zBrush. I'm quick to learn programs I don't know and enjoy teaching others what I do know.
I would like to find a full time position at a reputable studio in Oceania and become a valuable team member. My dream position would be as a lead character TD at a film or cinematics studio.
