I am Gianni Vardanega, A recent Grad From Cogswell Polytechnical College who studied Lighting, rendering, and compositing. During my time in school I had the opportunity to work on three animated shorts, where I worked as a lighting artist and compositor. I spent virtually all of my time in the studio on campus and fell in love with Lighting, and shot production. In the future I hope to be a Lighting/ comp artist in either the Animated film or VFX industry. I am looking forward to lighting as much as possible and hoping to enter the workforce very soon.

SHOT 1- LIVING ROOM LIGHTING CHALLENGE - time -00 :02
Responsible for All Texturing, Shading, Lighting, Rendering, and Compositing. I modeled
the wine glasses and bottle in maya. All of the texturing was image projection in mudbox and textures were edited using photoshop. Ncloth and
Nparticle simulation was handled by maya and rendered in Vray. Lighting/Shading used
Vray 2.5. All compositing done in Digital Fusion.

SHOT 2-NO SMOKE LIGHTING CHALLENGE - time - 00:12
Responsible for All Texturing, shading, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
The Biscuits were modeled using Agisoft photoscan and generated the 3d mesh from
a series of photographs of a real object. Texturing was done in Photoshop and Mudbox.
Lighting and rendering was done in maya and renderman using slim to develope
all shaders. Steam was done in houdini and rendered in mantra. Used eyeon fusion
for all compositing.

SHOT 3- TROUBLE BREWING-TROLL SNIFF - time - 00:24
Responsible For development of light rig, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing.
Developed Lighting from painted color key and directors art direction. Lighting and
Rendering were done using Vray 3.0. All aspects Composited in Nuke.

SHOT 4- "DRAWN HOME" NIGHT LIGHTING - time - 00:31
Responsible for All Lighting, Rendering, Compositing. Lit and Rendered in Renderman
for Maya, and composited in Digital Fusion. All rendering was handled through the
schools proprietary renderfarm software.

SHOT 5- "DRIVEN" HERO PORTRAIT- time - 00:43
Responsible for All Lighting and Rendering. It was done in Renderman
for maya. All rendering was handled through the schools
proprietary renderfarm software.
