My name is Emily Shock, I am currently a senior at Savannah College of Art and Design, graduating in May 2015. I have always loved Visual Effects and decided to pursue my passion by coming to college in order to further my knowledge and eventually contribute to the Visual Effects industry. Shot1: Head in the Clouds

I was responsible for all aspects of this project,. I wanted to further my knowledge and see how far I could push myself in Houdini. I had never attempted clouds before and only played with the fur tools in Houdini. The main motivation for this project was to create a whimsical scene in order to invoke a peaceful and tranquil feeling. The bear was created from scratch in Zbrush and then retopoligized in Topogun 2.0. All other models were created in Maya 2014 and the imported into Houdini. The fur was created using Houdini's fur system and the clouds were created using the cloud rig shelf tool and then experimentation insued.

Shot 2: Wooden Sculpture

Responsible for all aspects. This project was an exploration of Houdini. My goal was to create a procedural animation inspired my artist Nemo's Giant Squid kinetic sculpture. Everything was modeled inside of Houdini and the animation was created using sine and cosine expression. Rendered out in Mantra and then composited in NukeX.

Shot 3: Water Dragon

All Aspects except design. This was dragon was created using some inspiring concept art found by artist: Shinerai on DeviantArt. The model was created in Zbrush, then retopologized in Topogun. UVed in Headus Layout and the imported into Houdini. I created the color map and displacement map inside of Zbrush and then exported them out. I created the mane using the Houdini fur system and then everything was rendered out in Mantra.
