Emilie Stabell

Denmark,  Viborg The Animation Workshop, Denmark,  Bachelor of Arts in CG Art,  January 23, 2016
My name is Emilie Stabell. I’m from Denmark and am currently studying for a bachelor in CG Art at The Animation Workshop in Viborg (DK). My main focus is working with characters and concepts where detailed and high quality pieces are my goal. I constantly work to improve my skills and learn new techniques, as I believe challenging yourself will keep you in a dynamic development as an artist. Regarding the future I am hoping to become a part of the gaming industry, working with modeling, texturing and color.

Breakdown:

Nova 00:03
A colorful character made for games. The focus was to create an appealing female design with interesting colors and personality. She was sculpted in ZBrush, modeled in Maya, textured with Photoshop and rendered using Nuke. This was a great challenge for making something with more props and detail.

Lion Mask 00:24
A more abstract design meant to challenge myself regarding translating flat layered concepts into 3D. It was modeled in Maya and rendered with Vray.

Zapp 00:31
A small blue alien inspired by Lilo & Stitch and Ratchet & Clank. He is animation friendly, made for films, but is currently being tested in a game engine for a small production. I challenged myself to make a simple design with strong shapes and a simple color scheme.

Guam Bay 00:59
This was a study in storytelling, illustration, stylized design and color. The idea was to create 3 cohesive characters and a universe they could live in. The models were done in Maya and ZBrush while the texturing and illustration were done in Photoshop. The compositing was made with After Effects.
