Avery Brown

United States,  Philladelphia Drexel University,  Animation and Visual Effects,  June 11, 2016
I started playing with computer graphics and animation in middle school Influenced by films such as Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings, I wanted to learn how to create the amazing things that those films contained. Computer graphics were one of my hobbies throughout high school, at the end of which I enrolled in the digital media program at Drexel University. I am currently interning at Brooklyn Digital Foundry as a visualization specialist, through Drexel's six-month co-op program. After I graduate, I hope to work as a modeller, compositor or technical director.

00:05:20 - Heist: I modeled all of the environment and several props using a combination of Maya and Blender. I also took care of rendering with Mental Ray and compositing with Nuke. The characters were provided by the professor and the animations in these shots were done by my partner, as well as the rest of the props
00:08:25 - Man Spider: Character I modeled in Modo and render using Maya and Mental Ray. Turntable composited with After Effects.
00:13:04 - Cave: Live action plate tracked with PFTrack, then reconstructed in Maya and finally composited in Nuke. The Ivy was procedurally generated with the IvyGen plugin for Blender.

00:21:28 - Checkmate: I textured and shaded the chess piece using Mudbox to generate maps and VRay for Maya to render. I was also responsible for all compositing tasks, including camera matching, roto-scoping, environmental reconstruction and integration using Nuke.
