VALE is a short film about a survivor looking for hope in a post-apocalyptic world.

The short film was specially created to allow audience to enjoy the visual experience, while also giving space for audience's imaginations themselves. Details of the story be picked up along various scenes, and are open for many interpretations, instead of giving the audience too much information.

The project was a great challenge - from conceptualizing, creating the story structure, designing the characters, planning the effects, filming across various locations, and finally adding CGI / visual effects components in post production. A dark and desaturated mood was deliberately chosen for the overall look development of the film, while keeping the scenes cinematic, realistic with visual impact. The finished project is a successful collaboration between 6 talented artist with various expertise of different areas, mainly completed in Houdini, Maya, Nuke, Mari, Premiere, Photoshop. Special thanks to the lecturers in Bournemouth University and NCCA for their guidance.
