United Kingdom,  Bournemouth Bournemouth University,  MA Digital Effects / MA Computer Animation/ MSc Computer Animation and Visual Effects,  August 19, 2015
We are a team of Masters students studying at the NCCA in Bournemouth University. Thalassa was created as part of a 7 week project in which we created, designed and implemented the entire piece. We are all undertaking further study to push us forward and further our individual careers in this exciting industry. Interested in various different areas of the Animation and VFX world, the 5 of us have each brought different skills to the project; modelling, animating, rigging, visual effects, programming, motion-capture, compositing, film-making and photography, whilst all having an eye for what is successful artistically, and the importance of composition and realism, and the technology behind it. The concept is our own original work, and we shot the footage, modeled and animated the characters, using motion-capture for the primary human animation, created the water effects, altered the backplate, before compositing the 3D elements all together. We all loved working closely together on this project, it truly was a great team to be part of. We hope you enjoy it!
