This started out as a group project, during a student trip to Seattel.
We were four guys from 3D College, Denmark, but somewhere down the road, I ended up being the sole farer on this ship.
Therefor I ended up doing close to all of this project. Everything except some of the assets.
I will do this breakdown, by asserting what the others contributed, and then what I did myself.
Jim Lemvig Andersen:
Tex/shade: Table, Chairs, Lamp, Cabinets
Modelling: Table, Chairs, Lamp, Globe Zodiacs
Tex/shade: Globe Zodiacs
Kevin Gøhler (me):
Modelling: Bookcases, Cabinets, Globe, Walls, Windows, Doors, End Sections, Bookstand, Ceiling, Floor, Blueprint parchment
Tex/shade: Bookcases, Globe, Walls, Windows, Doors, End Sections, Bookstand, Ceiling, Floor, Blueprint parchment
Rendering: All (V-Ray)
Compositing: All (After Effects)
Grading: All (Orange/teal)
Effects: All (Fog, Particles, Godrays
Cut and Editing: All
The scene it self is set up with V-Ray proxies for all the assets like, Chairs, Tables, Lamps, GLobes, Bookcases etc.
This way the others could work on the assets, and I could set up the proxies.
The entire room (Walls, Windows, Doors, Ceiling, Floor etc.) were not proxies.
After animating all the cameras, and checking all materials, i made some general render settings, tested, and splittet the scene up in 1 scene for each camera.
I then tweaked the render settings and baked the light mapping for each scene, and rendered it out with distributed rendering, on whatever machines were available in school.
I could then start comping all the elements together (I like to work with Raw Elements, and put it all together in comp).
After this I startet colorgrading, and adding effects like fog, dust, bloom and God rays.
Finally I recieved a licence from Moby, and I could start cutting to the music.
And with just 1 day left on the clock, I hereby submit our project: Suzzallo Library - Reading Hall
Music provided with licence from: Moby - Mistake (Davide Rossi Re-Work - Instrumental)
