This film was made in 3DS Max and rendered with VRay 2.4. It has then been composited on Nuke, and graded on Resolve.
The biggest technical part was the rigging which used extensively vector maths scripting all around to allow a spiral IK control over the arms and legs.
I also build a special interface and rig importer to simplify the animation task, especially of the eyes and arm roll.
Another point was the high density of the colors, which required very specific lighting for each shot, and a lot of multi-pass compositing afterwards to get it right. The vimeo compression doesn't do a fair job at it by the way.
