A feminist space adventure about kick-ass comic book heroine Connie Radar as she attempts to prevent the first moon landing. After a 2 day green screen shoot we spent 5 months doing all the VFX on 113 shots. The design and creation of the space vehicles went from completely imaginary retro of Connie's ship to matching the realism of the lunar lander from NASA reference photography. These needed to be completely realistic to integrate well with the live action footage. The CGI moon surface and the astronauts proved to be a difficult challenge, due to the amount of detail and how they responded to the harsh lighting on the moon. Composting live action heads into the CGI suits was tricky as it involved animating the suits to match the actors then post-tracking the heads to lock them in to the helmets.
